The Tailor Made programme continues the tradition that began in Maranello in the 1950s when every Ferrari sports car was bespoke. The extensive range of materials and finishes on offer led to some remarkable one-off “Tailor Made” masterpieces meeting the desires of the period’s most passionate and discerning clients.
Today, the choice of colours, materials and craftsmanship is almost unlimited due to the Ferrari Design Team’s tireless research. Passion, innovation and excellence always characterise their work.
This expression of unlimited creativity leads to some of the most truly original Ferrari cars, destined to gain increasing prestige and value over time.
The Tailor Made programme serves a limited number of clients per year, assisted by their own Personal Designer and a team of experts to ensure that each and every element of the car is uniquely specified, whilst upholding the traditions and prestige that Ferrari is renowned for.
The craft of innovation is seen in the seats, which feature handcrafted fabrics combined with a yarn made from recycled tyres, and in the laser-finished aluminium details – the shield on the wing and the compass rose and geographic coordinates of Maranello etched on the bonnet.
Recycled aluminium is already used in certain components of the twin-turbo V8 engine to achieve high performance with lower environmental impact. With the finish of this Roma Spider, Ferrari has gone a step further with elements that include chrome-free Nappa leather, certified-origin wood for the tonneau cover, and parts made of recycled sand from the casting processes in our factory.
The journey – the central theme of this Ferrari Roma Spider Tailor Made project – was the inspiration behind component development and the search for special materials. The start and end point: the Maranello headquarters of the Prancing Horse.
