Charles Leclerc claimed his first win of the 2026 season on Sunday, and with it, a landmark result for Scuderia Ferrari: the team’s 250th Grand Prix victory. Lewis Hamilton joined Leclerc on the podium with a third-place finish, in a British Grand Prix that came down to a late Safety Car finish.

Silverstone Highlights

  • Ferrari’s 250th win in Formula 1 history — achieved at the same circuit where the team took its first, in 1951
  • Leclerc’s first victory of 2026, and his first-ever win at Silverstone
  • Hamilton finishes P3 despite an early penalty, giving Ferrari two drivers on the podium
  • Ferrari closes further on Mercedes in the Constructors’ standings

How Ferrari Controlled the Race

  • Lap 1: Leclerc converts P2 into the lead at Turn 1, passing polesitter Kimi Antonelli.
  • Mid-race: Antonelli reclaims the lead through the pit-stop cycle and stretches his stint.
  • Lap 36: Antonelli pits, handing the lead back to Leclerc.
  • Lap 41: A left-front wheel shield failure ends Antonelli’s fight for the win.
  • Lap 48: Max Verstappen spins into the gravel, bringing out the Safety Car that freezes the finish.

Leclerc's Reaction

Leclerc called the win a huge relief after a difficult run of races, saying he’d sensed something come together between the Sprint and Qualifying — and that Sunday finally confirmed it.

“Finally! This one feels particularly good… hard work paid off,” Leclerc said after the race. “Tough times never last, only tough people last!

Antonelli’s scoreless weekend narrowed his championship lead to 25 points over Russell, while Ferrari now sits second in the Constructors’ standings, 78 points behind Mercedes.

Looking Ahead

The next event on the schedule is the Belgian Grand Prix. The race weekend runs July 17–19, 2026, at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. With Silverstone marking Round 9, Spa serves as Round 10 of the 22-race championship season.

For Ferrari, Silverstone marks a rare confluence of history and momentum — a milestone win, at the circuit where it all began.

That same pursuit of victory is what we bring to every car on our floor at Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale.
