Following Ferrari Racing Days at Circuit of the Americas, Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale Racing continued the 2026 Ferrari Challenge North America season at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from June 17–21.
The California circuit delivered highly competitive racing across multiple categories, marking an important step forward for the team’s program as it fielded entries across three distinct tiers:
The weekend also marked a major milestone for the team, highlighted by Kevin Gutierrez’s first career Trofeo Pirelli-Am victory, a dominant Time Attack win from Max Hayim, and a Ladies Cup victory for Lina Gibson at Laguna Seca.
“I’m so happy! I’ve been chasing this victory for a while. We’ve been competitive since the start of the season, but there was always something missing. It wasn’t the easiest week here, but we never gave up. Pole position was the first step, although there was definitely some pressure at the start. In the end, we got the win. I’m happy for the whole team. It’s a great reward for everyone involved.”

Gutierrez established his pace early during testing, recording the quickest lap in the final practice session. After qualifying fifth—just 0.185 seconds off pole position—he advanced to fourth in Saturday’s opening race. Following a lap-16 collision while challenging for a podium spot, he recovered to cross the finish line in fourth place.
On Sunday morning, Gutierrez secured pole position by a narrow 0.054-second margin in a session where the top ten drivers were separated by only seven-tenths of a second. Starting from the front row in the afternoon sprint, he maintained the lead under pressure and controlled the 30-minute race from lights to flag, setting the fastest lap of the race en route to victory.
After capturing Time Attack victories at Thermal and COTA earlier this year, Hayden Gibson made his Trofeo Pirelli-Am debut in the No. 6 Ferrari 296 Challenge.
Gibson adjusted quickly to the grid, qualifying ninth and missing the leading pace by six-tenths of a second. He managed a clean opening lap and executed passes on laps 10 and 20, ultimately securing a sixth-place finish following post-race adjustments.
Starting from the fifth row, Gibson utilized a patient strategy. After a measured opening stint, he executed passes on laps 15 and 16, maintaining a consistent pace to secure a seventh-place finish.
Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale Racing added two victories to its season tally in the Time Attack discipline.
The West Coast swing continues next month as Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale Racing travels north to Sonoma Raceway for Round 5, scheduled for July 22–26, 2026. The event marks the penultimate round of the 2026 Ferrari Challenge North America championship as the team enters the final stretch of the season.
