If you are one of those people who loves everything Ferrari, then there is a good chance you have heard of the Ferrari World theme park in Abu Dhabi. This massive indoor play space is completely Ferrari themed with rollercoasters, child-friendly rides. With F1 being so popular in the Middle East, this attraction draws thousands and thousands of guests each year. Now the storied automaker is working on a second theme park called Ferrari Land that is set to open in 2016.
This new venue will be located outside Barcelona, Spain as part of the large PortaAventura complex. This location currently draws more than 4 million visitors each year and the addition of a Ferrari-themed amusement park will surely bring in many more.
Part of Ferrari Land will be a 250-room hotel designed to look like the front end of an F1 racer. This hotel promises 5-star service and will include shopping, restaurants even a large simulation area where guests can get behind the wheel.
Managing director of Ferrari, Andrea Perrone, recently commented, “Ferrari Land will appeal to entire families as well as Formula One supporters. We will continue to further look at the launch of additional Ferrari them parks outside Europe with no rush, while continuing to maximize the value of our prestigious brand without diluting it.”1
Here in Florida, we are all-too familiar with theme parks, but we suspect that with the right execution, Ferrari Land will become a must-see spot for true Ferrari enthusiasts.
